The eTRaXC Way
Managing physical, emotional, and spiritual fitness takes much more than will power, chemicals, surgery, fad nutrition plans, and cool software. It involves living in a "Way" that redefines your lifetyle to a manageable and healthy "system." Read more below...
Sorry. To live a healthy and active life until the end requires a lifestyle that is individualized, easy to manage with little or no self-sacrifice, and does not rely on eliminating key components of your system (ie: carbs), or seeking medications (side-effects still being discovered), and surgeries that focus on the symptom as opposed to the cause.
Carbohydrates are your body's most efficient energy source. To eliminate it from your diet, or to act like it is a bad thing, is NOT a recipe for success. The reason marathoners often 'hit the wall' around 20 miles is because that is when their carbohydrate stores are exhausted.
Strive for a balance at every meal of 40% carbohydrate, 30% fat, and 30% protein. The challenge will always be the protein. Focus on high protein consumption and lower fat consumption AT EVERY MEAL, and the carbs will fall into place. Note that each gram of carbohydrate and protein contains about 4 calories and each gram of fat contains about 9 calories.
While we all have our own biological make-up, including a metabolism, but we MUST believe that WE are in control! Certainly, some have a much tougher 'row to hoe' than others, but if we throw up our hands in frustration when things don't go well right away, then we turn our backs on our greatest advocate (outside of our Higher Power), OURSELVES.
Someone won’t engage in their fitness effort on a daily basis probably won’t succeed. It's ok to have your software collect much of the data and, of course, process it, but if an individual doesn't want a hand in that data collection, they probably won't succeed in their fitness plan.
